Optical Test and Calibration Ltd

Spectral measurements are possible

We have always aimed to be flexible and meet customer requirements as closely as possible. After receiving enquires for calibration to specific light sources we increased our capability by purchasing a spectroradiometer

Now, in addition to our UKAS accredited luxmeter calibrations at 2856K (Illuminant A), OTC can offer fully traceable calibrations to a wide variety of other light sources including (but not limited to!) LED, fluorescent, metal halide, mercury & sodium. This can either be your own source or you can choose from our reference collection.

Due to mismatches between the V(lambda) curve and the actual photometric filters in instruments (See ‘The problem with luxmeters’), arguments sometimes arise when different readings are made on different meters. This problem can now be eliminated with a calibration against your specific source.

Luminance meters, also normally calibrated at 2856K, can now be calibrated against specific sources such as D65 or a filtered red, green or blue to ensure the best match for your application.

Other services we can now offer:

  • Spectral transmission: band-pass filters, neutral density filters...
  • Spectral reflectance: reflectance targets, photographic grey cards...
  • Spectral emission of your light source
